SNAKE CHARMERS @ COCULLO

A huge long long line of cars
under a bright gorgeous pitiless sun
to and fro goes the way up the mountains
an hour long serpent.

And then the explosion
people people people everywhere people
crowded glued to the floor no way to watch
sweating breathless excited
women children men so many of them
their torments loves worries frenzies smiles
all cooked in the same pan
under the blessing of the sun
all is one one is all in the snake pit.

At last, she. She manifests herself
in the midst of the roar of the crowds
humming in awe Aleluya
the Snakes are here all coiled
branched tongues reaching out to kiss
hissing silently effortless
emotionless snake eyes
do snakes have second chakra?

So excited we the people, the human herd
unenthusiastic them the snakes
high in the disdain of the gods
dripping poison medicine energy spirit
